Annecy
Annecy is being considered the most beautiful town of the region of Rhône-Alpes.
In the center of the old city you walk trough narrow alleys along canals and across bridges. You will find many shops,
restaurants and terraces here.
Also, you will come across a considerable number of historic buildings. One of which is
the castle; built in the 12th century and overlooking the entire city.
Annecy, as long as one can remember, has always been a crossroads for trade
and commerce. Today the tradition is alive as
ever with open-air markets on Tuesday, Friday and Sunday mornings between 8 a.m. and noon all year round.
Also on the last Saturday of each month there is a sizable antiques market from 9 a.m. to 7 p.m. and an ‘Art Fair’ is
held simultaneously, during which many local and regional artists exhibit and sell their works.
Lake Annecy
Lake Annecy is situated directly at the old center of Annecy. This lake is the purest lake in Europe, visibility reaches
several metres below the surface of the water. At this lake you have several little beaches where you can enjoy the sun
and swim. But also sailing, windsurfing, canoeing, waterskiing, underwaterdiving and fishing are possible.
