Hikes

The Alps, with its landscape of Alpine-meadows, forests and mountains, are great for hiking. There are numerous
indicated hiking trails in this area,
where signs show you the right direction.
From this area there is a very detailed plan available at the local tourist offices, the pubs and the
supermarkets (no. 3430ET carte de randonnée La
Clusaz/Grand Bornand). This plan is made special for hikers
and all the hikes are indicated very clearly. So with this map you can plan your own route.
But also you can choose for one (or more) of the hikes mentioned below. The hikes are different in length and
grade of difficulty, so it is possible for
everyone to have a beautiful walk.
Don’t forget your camera and your binoculars!
Some suggestions for a beautiful hike:
Les Rochers de Leschaux/Solaison/Grotte de la Glacière

You mainly walk across narrow mountain-paths to the top of the mountain Les Rochers de Leschaux
(altitude 1.936 m), from where you will have a grandiose and far view on this
region. After that you
descend to the village Solaison where you could visit a restaurant. From Solaison you walk into the woods
where you will see Grotte de la Glacière.
During your hike you will encounter a large diversity of flowers
and plants and probably also wild animals like deers, goats, marmots.
The hike lasts approximately 5 hours and the level of difficulty is between average and difficult.
Route description
Villard

This concerns a superb walk through the forests of Le Petit Bornand. You will encounter little streams
with waterfalls, but also houses which are built
around the year of 1900.
The hike lasts, depending your choice, approximately 1,5 or 2,5 hours and the level of difficulty is
between easy and average.

Beffay

A piece of meadow, a bit of forests, little streams, cascades. You will encounter it all. Also you will
cross two times the river ‘Le Borne’ by bridge.
The hike lasts approximately 1,5 hours and the level of difficulty is easy.

Lac de Lessy

This hike starts in the village Paradis. When the sky is clear you can see Lake Geneva from here. The hike
takes you through forests and across meadows and
mountains to end up finally at Lac de Lessy.
The hike lasts approximately 5,5 hours and the level of difficulty is between average and difficult.

Plateau des Glières / Mont Blanc / Chalets des Auges

Plateau des Glières (altitude 1450m) is situated in the mountains of Petit-Bornand-les-Glières.
This landscape of Alpine-meadows is
surrounded by forests and mountains, with grandiose views.
Thanks to the footh-paths the Plateau is great for relaxed hiking with the whole
family and you
can make your hike as long as you want.
For the ones who want a longer hike or a hike more difficult there are different hikes starting from the Plateau.
One of these hikes brings
you across the Alpine-meadows and trough the forests to the ‘Chalets des Auges’.
Just before you arrive at ‘Chalets des Auges’, you encounter a spot from where you have a unique and grandiose view
at the Mont
Blanc, if it’s not too cloudy.
This hike lasts approximately 2,5 hours and the level of difficulty is
between easy and average.
